Since 2014, they with Sour Grapes have produced 105 productions in New York, 81 of which they have directed and acted in, 64 of which have been originals that she has written. They're the creator and director of five monthly shows - SILENT BUT DEADLY: A Mime & Clown Experience (2019 - present), CHEMICAL X: The Powerpuff Girls Improv Show (2019 - present), The Addams Parody (2021 - present), Joke & Dagger Improv (2022 - present), and What We Improvise in the Shadows (2023 - present). She, alongside producing partner Chris Weigandt, opened The Vino Theater in 2021, with the aim to provide an affordable theater space for independent artists, as well as The Cork Studio in 2022 because they kept having to turn bookings away as TVT got too busy. Genny is also a team member of AMPD Productions and the band manager for The Richlands. Shout out to Austin for everything. @gennydreadful

Looneys was originally billed as "a Laughing Tragedy" - my half-assed attempt to explain the heartache present in this silly little Looney Tunes comedy. And while we lost the subtitle, I believe every change made since the Developmental Staging at The Vino Theater has reinforced this idea of a Laughing Tragedy. These characters are distinctly real and their struggles and pain cut through the jokes the way I know I've cut through struggle with jokes I've made. These aren't the cartoon characters you've grown up with, they're who those characters grew up to be and (if I've done my job right) seeing The Looney Tunes again after so many years should feel the same as running into a childhood friend that life has been rough with.
I ask you to greet these characters with empathy and understanding and look past the cartoon antics to find the real people in there.
Within these characters are me and the flawed friends I love.
Except Frenchy. That dude just sucks.
-Austin Sky Parker, Playwright
It’s funny, in a way, that directing such a dark show has been such a joy. But it has. Looneys brings childhood characters into the real world, and I’ve loved seeing them come alive as they deal with purpose, meaning, art, relationships, and often, despair. These both are and aren’t the Looney Tunes you know.
Many thanks to Genny for all the work (so much work!) behind the scenes to make this production happen, Austin for providing a fantastic script and storytelling, Hannah for the beautiful compositions that complete this tale, and of course, the cast! You all have been amazing to work with. I can see the work you all put in to bring each character to life in its distinct way. And to the audience, I’m so excited to share what we’ve done together with you! Enjoy the show.
Well holy crap, y'all. We made it.
When this show first premiered at The Vino Theater in June of this year, I was simply the venue owner of the space the team was rehearsing and performing in. I'd somehow managed to become fast friends with the shows playwright and lead performer, Austin Sky Parker, and while I still am not fully clear on how my insane rants in multiple U-Haul runs managed to get this guy to want to work with me, by the time the next iteration of the show came to be, he immediately asked if I wanted to join the team as a producer.
I knew right away that I would have been an idiot to say no. The script is spectacular, the team we complied is phenomenal, and Austin is simply a joy to work with anyway. Every single step of this process with this show has proven how strong AMPD is going to be as a production company, and I couldn't be more honored to be involved.
Audra, thank you for stepping in to direct. You've brought so much to this show and my respect for you in never ending. To the cast, you're amazing. You're the reason why I do what I do. Austin, what you've started here is brilliant. I love you and I know this is only the beginning for you and for AMPD.
And to the audience - we couldn't do any of this without your support. What you're about to watch (or have watched, if you're reading this post show) is a production that I am so immensely proud of. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being here in the bin with us.
